Description

Nos. 1-4 Trafalgar Road are three terrace houses dating from around 1820, with some alterations made in the 20th century. They are constructed from limestone ashlar and feature slate and pantile roofs with moulded stacks on the party walls. The buildings are two to three storeys tall and have single and two-window fronts, with coped parapets, cornices, and platbands.

No. 1, which is located on the left-hand corner of the High Street, has three storeys and retains some crown glass in two eight-over-eight pane sash windows on the upper floors. It also features a six-panel door to the right with moulded panels. There is a flat arched carriage entrance to the right, above which is a six-over-six pane sash window. The left return of No. 1 has a similar window on the upper floors above a 20th-century shop front. A well-preserved painted advertisement on the left end of the Trafalgar Road front reads 'COME HERE FOR WILLS'S GOLD FLAKE CIGARETTES'.

Nos. 2-4 have 20th-century doors to the left. No. 2, which has a two-window range, features a long timber lintel over a 20th-century ground floor window. No. 3, with a single-window range, has six-over-six pane sash windows, while No. 4, also a single-window range, has plate glass sashes. The interiors have not been inspected.
