Description
The George Inn Public House is an inn dating from the mid to late 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries, including a west gable that is dated 1815. The building is constructed of coursed rubble and features a Cotswold stone slate roof with coped raised verges. It has two storeys and is designed in an L-shape, with a gabled cross wing to the left. The front has two windows, which are 3- and 4-light casements with moulded mullions set beneath drip moulds. To the left, there is a modern door that is sheltered by a flat stone hood supported on brackets. The cross wing includes 2- and 3-light casements with moulded mullions and two modern dormers. Inside, the inn features stop-chamfered beams and a winder staircase.
