Description

Ye Grange is a house located on the north-west side of High Street in Bathampton. It is dated 1661, although this date appears on a modern lintel above the door. The building has undergone alterations in the 18th and 20th centuries. It is constructed from coursed, squared rubble and features a Cotswold stone slate mansard roof with coped raised verges. The house has two storeys and attics with hipped dormers, and it is arranged in five bays. The ground floor has glazing bar sash windows and modern windows set in plain stone surrounds with a cornice. The first floor features 2-light casements with moulded mullions beneath a continuous string course. A central modern plank door is located under a flat stone hood supported by brackets. To the left of the main structure, there is a two-storey lean-to extension. The property also includes cast iron railings along the road.
