Description

This is an early to mid-19th century row house, which now operates as a post office. It is located on the south side of Combe Road in Combe Down, and its compact, square block sits directly behind Byfield Buildings. The house is constructed of painted ashlar with a slate roof. The front elevation features two storeys and two twelve-pane sash windows on the upper floor, above small, pilastered shop display windows. A glazed door is set within deep reveals to the far left. A slight cornice, blocking course, and parapet are present, with the parapet returning to a hipped roof. The east return displays two large sixteen-pane sashes on the upper floor, above a central twelve-pane window. The west return has a single twelve-pane window at first floor level. The interior of the building has not been inspected.
