Description

An 18th-century boundary wall and balustrade to Lyncombe Hall. The wall, approximately 2.7 meters high, incorporates limestone ashlar and has saddleback coping. It abuts the right-hand end of Lyncombe Hall and includes a plank door immediately to the right of the main range. The wall continues to the right, with the coping following the slope of the hill, returning in a quadrant curve near Lyncombe Vale, where there is a further plank door and a one-step descent, with a ramped approach to the right. The balustrade runs along much of the wall’s length in Lyncombe Vale, seated on a flat coping. The wall terminates with a stopped end opposite the Lodge to Paragon School. The boundary wall and balustrade incorporate stonework formerly located in Queen's Square.
