Description
Lyncroft is a detached house built in the early 19th century. The building features ashlar stone on the front, with the rear made of painted rubble, and has a slate roof, although the rear is covered with concrete tiles. It has a long layout and is situated high above the road, built against the back of the site.
The house is two storeys tall and has a window arrangement of one:three:one, with twelve-pane sash windows that have shutters and valences, except for a small six-pane window at the right end. The ground floor windows have all been replaced. The entrance features a six-panel door set in a pilaster doorcase with an entablature, which dates from the late 20th century. The building has a cornice, a blocking course, and a parapet.
At the rear, only the upper floor is visible, which has a long narrow hipped roof behind the parapet. To the left, there is an arched stair light and two widely spaced twelve-pane sash windows. The house has two large chimney stacks at the eaves and one on the west gable end. The interior has not been inspected.
