Description
Abbey Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid-17th century, which was refaced in the early 18th century and extended in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed rubble, with some areas pebble-dashed, and features freestone dressings. The roofs are covered with slate and double-roman tiles.
The main block of the farmhouse has two storeys and three windows, all featuring two-light edge-moulded mullions and architraves with inserted two-pane sashes, except for the bottom left window, which has three lights. There is a central, half-glazed four-panel door beneath a flat hood supported by moulded brackets. The extension to the left also has two storeys and two windows, with a two-light window above and a three-light window below, both having chamfered mullions and multi-pane cast iron casements.
At the rear, there is a parallel range with two storeys and three windows; the first floor has two-pane sashes, while the ground floor features variously altered casements. There is a central gabled porch with bargeboards and a finial. The interior has not been inspected.
