Description
Downside House is a house built around 1820. It features coursed rubble construction and a slate roof with raised, coped verges. The building has three storeys and three windows across the front. On the ground floor, there are tri-partite windows with a plain surround and mullions, consisting of a central sash flanked by two 4-pane sashes, along with a central part-glazed, 6-panel door that is sheltered by a flat hood supported on brackets. The first floor has sash windows, while the second floor is fitted with 9-pane sashes, all of which have plain surrounds. The house is topped with a plain cornice and a parapet. The interior has not been inspected.
