Description

The dovecote, located 5 metres north of Manor Barn in Saltford, is likely from the late 17th century and is associated with Saltford Manor House. It is constructed of coursed rubble with dressed stone quoins, featuring some concrete lintels, dressed stone ledges, and a gabled pantile roof. The building is two stories high and has four stepped rectangular openings on the east facade. The rear and west facade are covered in rampant ivy. Inside, some joists remain between the floors, but there is no evidence of internal nesting structures. The dovecote, along with Saltford Manor House and the Church of St Mary, forms a notable group.
