Description
The Abbey Cemetery Browne Tomb is a Grade II listed tomb dedicated to Rose Caroline Browne, who died in 1858. It features a Gothic canopy, constructed in 1858 from Pennant and limestone. The canopy has a pitched roof with three set-offs and a roll-moulded ridge, adorned with stiff leaf corner crockets. An inscription is located under the central gable, which is flanked by cusped panels that display marble armorial shields. The tomb stands on a vermiculated plinth above a rock-faced ashlar base and is situated on the south border of section V. At the time of inspection in 2002, the tomb was largely overgrown with ivy.
