Description
No. 20 Green Street is a terrace house that now functions as a shop. It dates from the late 18th century, with a later addition from the late 20th century. The building is constructed of painted ashlar, and the roof is not visible.
The exterior features three storeys, with one storey above two twelve-pane sash windows set in plain reveals. The shopfront, designed by Tektus in 1987, includes a door to the left, a modillion cornice, and large consoles supporting panelled pilasters. There is a stack to the right that is shared with the adjacent corner property.
The interior has not been inspected. Historically, this building may have been a refacing of an earlier property. Green Street was laid out in 1716, suggesting that this house could date from shortly after that time.
