Description
Combe Down House is a 19th-century villa constructed from limestone ashlar and topped with a slate roof. The building features a compact design with a low-pitched hipped roof and stands two storeys tall. The façade includes three windows, primarily six-over-six sashes set on wide sills with brackets. On the ground floor to the right, there is a flat-roofed canted bay with a plain sash and a cornice with a blocking course. The central porch is square and made of ashlar, featuring panelled pilasters, a frieze, a cornice with blocking, and a pair of 20th-century glazed doors. Additional architectural details include an eaves band, end stacks, and a broad soffit supported by wedge-shaped brackets. The left side of the building has a sash window at each level near the rear, which also has an added lean-to section and another ashlar stack. The front is marked by moulded gate piers topped with semi-circular finials. The right side connects to a large brick extension built in the early 21st century. The interior has not been inspected.
