Description
The Coach House to the west of the Hadley Arms is a detached small house, likely built in the mid-18th century. It features squared and dressed blockwork at the front and rubble at the rear, topped with a slate roof. The building is two stories high with two windows, oriented gable-end towards the road and facing the Hadley Arms to the east.
On the exterior, there are wide-spaced small plain sash windows on both levels, with an off-center door to the left. The gable end has a plain sash window on each floor, while the back wall remains unbroken. A large square ashlar chimney stack is centrally located, and the coped gables are adorned with saddle stones and tri-lobed finials.
The interior has not been inspected. Historically, this building may have served as a service block for the Hadley Arms in the 19th century, but it was likely originally constructed as a pair of small cottages.
