Description

This is a house dating to around 1840. It is built of limestone ashlar with an unseen roof and moulded brick stacks to the left return. The house is three storeys high, with a semi-basement, and has a four-window front. A canted bay window extends across the left-hand three bays. Steps lead to a front door with five panels and glazed upper sections, which features bolection moulding. The left-hand bay has moulded architraves framing two-pane sash windows without horns, with those on the first floor set beneath cornices supported by consoles. Similar windows to the right of the door, and above the door, have plain architraves. A cornice and a ground-floor platband run along the front, slightly returned. The building is encircled by a coped parapet. Cast iron railings with stone piers topped by shallow pyramidal caps run along the front. The interior has not been inspected but is noted to include features from the mid-19th century and late 19th century.
