Description
The parish boundary marker located at Bradford Road in Combe Down is a turnpike trust and parish boundary marker dated 1827. Made of cast iron, it features a broad flattened triangular shape and stands approximately 1 meter high, although part of it is buried in the pavement. It is set against a wall at the corner of Bradford Road and Combe Road. The date is displayed on a small raised panel at the top, with raised square panels on the left labeled "COMBE" and on the right labeled "WIDCOMBE." The front has the inscription "...H TURNPIKE TRUST" vertically. This marker is situated directly opposite another county boundary marker on the north side of Bradford Road. It is one of a series of markers erected by the Bath Turnpike Trust in 1827, while J.L. Macadam served as the engineer.
