Semi-detached villas. c1820 with C20 additions. Attributed to John Pinch. MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, roof not visible. PLAN: Compact villa with side entry to central transverse staircase; later rear wings to recessed centre. EXTERIOR: Two storeys and lower ground floor, each one window, but with central trompe l'oeil blank lights. twelve-pane sashes plus margin panes all round, slender iron balconettes to first floor, and to ground floor with shallow sunk surrounds, plus floating cornices; nine-pane sash to lower ground floor, replaced to No.2. Shallow end pilasters, slightly set in from corners, with no capitals or bases, and to lintel with frieze, cornice, blocking course and parapet. Parapet coping only returned. Central ashlar stack to the hipped roof. Left return has two twelve-pane sashes with balconettes above blind lights, with square central projecting porch with pilasters on panelled door with transom light. Hipped extension to rear with nine, twelve, and twelve-pane sashes. No.2 has similar return and C20 wing to rear. INTERIORS: Not inspected.
