Description
Lyndhurst Place features four terrace houses, numbered 1 to 4, which are arranged in a stepped formation downhill from No. 1 to the right. These houses date from the early 19th century and are constructed from limestone ashlar, with roofs that are not visible but have moulded stacks at the party walls. Each house has a double-depth plan and consists of two storeys and basements, with a two-window front for each unit. The exterior includes coped parapets, stopped cornices, lintel friezes, and ground floor platbands. The ground floor openings have semi-elliptical arched recesses. The unaltered houses feature six-over-six pane sash windows and six-panel doors with overlights to the right. No. 1 has plate glass sash windows and a six-panel door with margin panes above a two-pane overlight. No. 2 has similar windows, a four-panel door, and a simple lean-to hood. No. 3 includes splayed reveals at the ground floor, a single-storey canted bay with a parapet and cornice, and a four-panel door with a margin-paned overlight. No. 4 has splayed reveals to plate glass sash windows and a six-panel door. The interiors have not been inspected.
