Description
1 Long Acre is an early 19th-century house located between a warehouse on the right and No. 1 Thomas Street on the left, forming part of a single development. The building is constructed of limestone ashlar with a Welsh slate roof, which is not visible from the street except for a tall moulded stack at the rear right.
The house has a double depth plan and stands three storeys high with a two-window range. The right side of No. 1 Thomas Street features a single window, creating an apparently symmetrical three-window facade on Long Acre. Architectural details include a coped cornice, a parapet, a lintel frieze, and a ground floor platband that extends into Thomas Street, along with a plinth. The windows are margin-paned sash windows, with four panes over four panes to the left of the upper floors, situated above a six-panel door with a margin-paned overlight. The right-hand range has six panes over six panes, and the first-floor window includes a balconette. The interior has not been inspected.
