Description
Memorial Cottages are a pair of adjoining buildings constructed in limestone ashlar with a plain tile roof featuring moulded stacks at the centre ridge and gable ends. Built in a double-depth plan with rear wings, these two-storey structures have basements and two shared entrances.
The exterior is symmetrical, with moulded kneelers at the coped gable ends and a central party wall. Each house has a single leaded three-light stone mullioned and transomed window on both floors, with the upper window set in a half-dormer. Each pair of cottages features a central gabled porch supported by brackets, leading to a planked door. Notably, there is a Baroque inscription cartouche beneath a segmental hood above a blind arched entrance at the centre of the row. The rear sides of the cottages have similar windows in gabled dormers, along with one and two-light leaded windows. Long flights of stone steps at the rear wings provide access from the ground floor down to the garden.
Interiors have not been inspected.
