Description
Prospect House is a detached house located on Crown Hill in Weston. The building dates back to 1703, with later remodelling and refacing occurring in the late 18th century. It features a façade made of limestone ashlar, while the rest of the structure is built from rubblestone. The house has a steeply pitched mansard roof, with slate on the lower slopes and pantiles on the upper slopes, along with two dormers and moulded stacks at the gable ends.
The layout consists of a three-unit plan, which includes a later two-storey outshut and a late 19th-century conservatory that projects to the left. The exterior is two storeys high with an attic and presents a symmetrical arrangement of three windows. It has six-over-six pane sash windows and a panelled door with a roll-edge moulding, situated under a stone hood supported by shaped brackets. The lintel above the door is marked with "LICENCED TEA DEALER."
Inside, the house was altered in the late 18th century and features six-panel doors. The attics still hold early 18th-century simple painted stone fire surrounds, one of which includes stone sides for a hob grate.
