Description
Vine House is a house located on Church Road in Weston, dated 1706, with mid and late 19th century alterations. It is attached to the left side of Lansdowne House. The building is constructed of squared soft limestone rubble with 19th century freestone dressings and features a pantile roof with moulded stacks on the left return and right party wall.
The house has a three-unit plan with a rear left wing that is now a separate dwelling. It stands four storeys high and has a three-window range, with an additional four windows on the third floor. There is a continuous low coped parapet, cornice, and frieze that connects it to Lansdowne House. The 19th century plate glass sash windows have raised eared and shouldered surrounds. To the left, there is a two-storey canted bay with a stone balustraded parapet. On the inside right, there is a 19th century six-panel door with tall panels at the top and an overlight, flanked by Tuscan pilasters, a cornice, and a plaque inscribed with "N S 1706." The interior has not been inspected.
