Description

This is a mid-18th century house with a shop at the end of a terrace, with alterations carried out in the mid-19th century. The house is constructed of limestone ashlar, with the lower floors painted. It has a slate roof. The frontage was likely reconstructed in the 19th century. The building is three storeys and has an attic, topped with a mansard roof. A paired twelve-pane sash dormer window is likely from the original build. The upper floors now have large four-pane sash windows, while a modern, slightly bowed eighteen-pane display window sits on reeded pilasters with fascia and cornice at ground floor. A six-panel fielded door is situated to the right, sheltered by a heavy slab hood supported by shaped brackets, with an adjacent cast iron footscraper. A deep platband sits above the first floor, topped by a cornice, blocking course and parapet, with high coped gables. A large shared stack is located to the left. The interior has not been inspected.
