Description

Scanda Restaurant is a former flour mill that has been converted into a restaurant. It is dated "G.E.A. (George Allen), 1818," but it is likely a remodelling of an earlier building. The exterior features painted ashlar and an artificial stone slate roof. The structure consists of two three-storey blocks with an attic, which are connected by a modern entrance block that has a tile-hung first floor. Each block has three windows, featuring 2- and 3-light casements with chamfered mullions. The left block has drip moulds above the windows, while the right block has a continuous string course. There is a central plank studded door in the left block, although the steps have been removed. This building was formerly known as Bathford Flour Mill.
