Description

Monks Rest is a two-cottage dwelling, now combined into a single house, dating from the late 17th century. The construction is of coursed rubble, with a slate mansard roof featuring coped raised verges. The house has one storey and attic space, with modern dormers added. It has two windows, each a three-light casement with ovolo-moulded mullions and dripmoulds. There are two plank doors, each sheltered by a flat stone hood supported on brackets. A pointed arch window has been inserted into the gable end.
