Description
This is a row of three cottages located on Brassknocker Hill. Numbers 1 and 2 date to the early 18th century, while number 3 was built in the late 18th century. The cottages are constructed of coursed squared rubble with freestone dressings. They have double Roman tiled roofs with coped raised verges and ashlar stacks with cornices. Three finely carved urns are supported on the eaves.
Numbers 1 and 2 each have two storeys, with number 2 having three bays and number 1 having two. The windows are 2-light casements with edge roll-moulded mullions; replacement windows are on the ground floor of number 1. The ground floor windows of number 2 are covered by a continuous dripmould. A central 20th-century door is located in number 2, set within a moulded architrave and a flat stone hood supported on brackets. Number 1 has a panelled door to the left, also under a flat stone hood with brackets and a moulded cornice.
To the left of number 2, a former single-story stable is now incorporated into number 3. The main section of number 3 extends at a right angle to the north and is constructed of ashlar to the upper part with a hipped roof. It has a tripartite sash window on the west gable, with a semi-circular opening below. A 20th-century window is present on the south elevation, also under a flat stone hood on brackets. There are two lateral stacks on the north side.
