Description
The building consists of stables, barns, and shelter sheds located to the south and west of Lower Shockerwick Farmhouse. These structures date from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. The stables are constructed from coursed rubble with quoins and feature a Cotswold stone slate roof. They have coped raised gables topped with cross finials and are two storeys high, with a blocked door and a loft door above.
To the west of the farmhouse, there is a shelter shed made of coursed rubble, supported by square piers with capitals. This shelter shed has a Cotswold stone slate roof and consists of nine bays, some of which are blocked. At the south end, there is a workshop, while at the north end, there is a single-storey building with one casement window in an ovolo moulded surround.
At right angles to the shelter shed are two small barns, also built from coursed rubble with a Cotswold stone slate roof. These barns have square-headed carriage entries and are likely to have three or five bays with tie-beam roofs.
