Description
This structure consists of gates, piers, and flanking walls located 30 metres south of Vale House, likely built around 1802. The materials used include rubble, freestone, and cast and wrought iron. There are two square piers featuring recessed panels, which stand on plain plinths with rubbing stone and hipped caps. The attached gates have two tiers of spearhead rails, with the centre section being shorter, and a frieze adorned with paterae, although this is now covered by metal sheeting. Each pier is connected to a curved flank wall made of coped rubble, extending approximately 5 metres.
