Description

This is a detached house, dating from around 1820. It was originally built as part of a wider, characteristic Regency-era suburban development influenced by Greek Revival architecture, particularly prominent in Bath. The main block is three windows wide and symmetrical, constructed from limestone ashlar with an unseen roof and moulded chimney stacks to the gable ends. The façade features a low, coped parapet, an attic cornice, second floor cornice, and consoles supporting cornices over the ground floor windows. Balconettes and painted splayed reveals are present on sash windows; the upper floors have six/six-pane windows without horns, while the ground floor windows are larger and of a later 19th-century design, featuring plate glass. A two-story, one-window wide, recessed left wing has sash windows with horns. Steps lead up to a prostyle Doric porch with fluted columns, an entablature, and a blocking course; the double doors have vertical panels and a margin pane above. There is also a single-story, stone-fronted garage to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
