Description

Springfield Cottage is a small, detached house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed with a limestone ashlar facade, squared rubble stone elsewhere, and a hipped pantile roof featuring moulded stacks on the left return and rear. The house has a symmetrical three-window front with six/six-pane sash windows. The outer first-floor windows have balconettes and sunblind boxes, flanking a blind window with painted glazing bars. A coped parapet, cornice, and ground floor platband are visible at the front, with steps leading to a four-panel door sheltered by a swept hood. There is one six/six-pane sash window on the right return. The interior has not been inspected.
