Description

This is an irregular terrace of three houses, Dromana, Stanley House, and The Firs, located set well back from Camden Road in steeply banked gardens. The houses date from around 1780 and the early 19th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. The buildings are constructed of painted ashlar and have steeply pitched double Roman tile mansard roofs, with plate glass sash windows to two dormers. Moulded stacks are visible on the right gable end and left party wall.

The Firs, on the right, is two storeys and attic, with a symmetrical three-window front. It shares a coped parapet, cornice, and platband with Stanley House. It features mid-19th century, horned two/two-pane sash windows, with coloured margin lights above the door. A five-panel door, glazed to the top, is set within a shallow enclosed porch with a cornice supported by brackets.

Stanley House, in the centre, is two storeys and attic, with a four-window front. It has casement windows to two dormers, six/six-pane sash windows to three ranges on the right, and a late-19th century, full-height canted bay on the left. A simple enclosed porch, to the left of centre, features radial glazing bars to a fanlight above a 19th-century four-panel door.

Dromana, to the left, dates from the early 19th century. It is two storeys high, without an attic, and the parapet, cornice, and platband do not align with the adjacent houses. It has horned six/six-pane sash windows to the first floor. A large, 20th-century square casement window is located on the ground floor to the left, beneath a shallow moulded hood on brackets, which covers a two-pane overlight and double 20th-century doors. A wall to the left features a semicircular archway, with coping continuing into the platband. The interiors of the properties were not inspected.
