Description
The building is a stable, now used as a school, located about 30 metres northeast of the Manor House. It dates from the early 18th century and has undergone alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The structure is built of sandstone rubble with limestone dressings and features a pantiled roof with raised coped verges. It is two storeys high and has three bays, with the central bay projecting forward.
On the ground floor, there is a former carriage entry with a segmental head and 20th-century doors. To the left, there is a 20th-century door with a segmental head, and to the right, a three-light casement window with chamfered stone mullions and a hood mould. The first floor has a similar central three-light window, with keyed oculi on each side. There is a cornice and a pediment over the central bay, which features a blind lunette.
The left return of the building has a keyed oculus at the upper level, while the right return has a similar oculus and a 20th-century window on the ground floor. The rear includes two small flat-roofed 20th-century additions, an external stair leading to a first-floor door, and two 20th-century windows on the first floor.
Attached to the left return is a curtain wall from the 19th century, approximately 4 metres high and extending about 15 metres, featuring a four-centred arched chamfered opening and battlements.
