Description

This is a chest tomb located one yard north of the Sabin Monument in the churchyard to the north of the Parish Church in Combe Hay. It has a legible date of 1802, likely commemorating someone named Spencer. The tomb is made of limestone ashlar and is shaped like a coffin. Its plain inscribed base supports a lid that is intricately carved to resemble a robe, complete with cords and tassels.
