Description

The village fountain, located 5 meters north of The Shop, dates from the mid to late 19th century. It is constructed from sandstone and limestone ashlar in a coarse neo-Norman style. The fountain features three semi-circular basins and has a triangular base that supports a cylindrical shaft adorned with three attached columns, each topped with moulded caps. At the top, there is a large circular bowl. It is likely that this fountain was erected as a Jubilee Fountain or as a gift to the village from the Gore-Langton family.
