Description
The Old Rectory, now a private hostel, dates from the 18th century and was remodelled in the mid-19th century. It is built of ashlar and features a hipped and mansard slate roof behind a balustraded and plain parapet, along with a moulded cornice and ashlar stacks. The building has two storeys and attics, with three bays; the outer two bays are slightly advanced and have canted bays on the ground floor, which include balustraded parapets and tall round-headed windows. The first floor has a similar window in the centre and outer glazing bar sashes. There is a projecting porch with a balustraded parapet, featuring a panelled and glazed door beneath a fanlight, set in a round-headed surround with pilasters. To the west, there is a coped rubble garden wall, along with square ashlar gatepiers that have moulded caps and pineapple finials.
