Description

No. 10 Montague Place is a house built between 1802 and 1805, although it has been significantly altered since. It was originally designed to be similar in appearance to Nos. 12 and 14. The building is four storeys high and faced with stucco. It has a modillioned cornice and a bow window. A tall, three-light sash window occupies the full height of the front. To the right is a single sash window on each floor, except the first, where there is a recessed doorway with steps leading up to it. The steps are flanked by modern fluted pilasters, and the lower two steps have cast iron railings with decorative balusters. A former first-floor balcony and canopy have been removed. Nos. 10 to 14 form a cohesive group.
