Description

54 Richmond Road is a substantial villa built around 1845, likely part of the same development as Heslington House. It is set back in its own garden and features a picturesque Italianate design. The left section of the building is three stories tall, while the right section is two stories. There is a continuous frieze and cornice at the eaves level of the two-story section, and both sections have hipped slate roofs.

A central semi-circular projection rises two stories beneath a painted dome, supported by four pilasters on each level, with the entrance and windows above located in the wider central bay. The flanking sections each have a single matching casement window, except for the left-hand side, which has a three-light window on the ground floor. Both ground floor windows are topped with straight bracketed hoods. The third story of the left section features a three-light blind window beneath a triple arch. Additionally, there is a two-story extension on the right side of the villa.
