Description

Nos 1 to 4 Caledonian Place form a range built at a right angle to West Buildings, with a forecourt. The building dates from the early 19th century and is three storeys high. It features three sash windows on each level, most with glazing bars. The facade is stuccoed, with a stringcourse above the ground floor and an eaves cornice. A slate roof tops the building, and long and short quoins mark the end houses. Fluted pilasters are located at the ends of the interior houses, while the ground floor windows of these are set within an arcaded design. Round-headed doorways are present, each with a semi-circular fanlight above a six-panel moulded door. Nos 1 and 4 feature porches supported by columns with capitals shaped like mushrooms. Nos 1 to 4 form a group of buildings.
