Description
Green Orchard Townlands is a house that has been divided, featuring an early 19th-century facade on a timber-framed structure. There is a 20th-century one-bay extension to the south. The east elevation is covered with black mathematical tiles and has wooden quoins at the ends, while the roof is tiled and concealed by a parapet with stone coping. The south elevation is made of red brick and has a slate roof. The building is two storeys high with attics, presenting a false second storey that is actually a high parapet with three gabled dormers behind it. There are three windows on this false second storey, which contain nine-paned sash windows that reveal the roof behind. The other floors feature tripartite 20-paned sash windows. The central doorway is accessed by five steps and is adorned with a pediment, pilasters, and a six-moulded panelled double door, flanked by twelve-light sash windows. There are end chimney stacks that are cement rendered. The south extension is two storeys high, made of sandstone ashlar, and has one twelve-light window with end quoins. An interior inspection was not permitted at the time of the survey, but substantial beams were reported.
