Description
Brocketts is a house dating from the late 17th century that was refronted in the mid-19th century, with an L-wing added to the southeast. The building has two storeys and attics. The main range features a ground floor of painted brick and a first floor hung with curved tiles that have diamond patterns in yellow tiles. It has a tiled roof with end brick stacks, one of which has a plaque dated 1726, although it has been reset. There are two gabled dormers and three windows; the first floor has 16-pane sash windows set in moulded architraves, while the ground floor has two tripartite windows. The central doorcase includes a flat hood on brackets, brick pilasters, a moulded architrave, and a modern door. The mid-19th century southeast wing is constructed of brick on the ground floor and tile hung on the first floor, featuring one tripartite sash window with horns. Inside, there is a 17th-century chamfered spine beam with lamb's tongue stops and two panelled doors with L-hinges.
