Description

Ivy Cottages comprises three separate cottages built in different periods. No. 4 dates to the late 18th century, No. 5 to the mid-19th century, and No. 3 to the late 19th century.

No. 4 is built of red brick with grey brick headers and has a mansard roof covered in tiles. It is two storeys high and features two six-pane sash windows with vertical glazing bars. The central doorcase has a flat wooden hood supported by carved brackets and a moulded architrave. Two brick stacks are at the ends. The rear elevation incorporates a large dormer and a mid-19th century brick extension.

No. 3 has a cement-rendered exterior and a tiled roof. It is also two storeys high with 16-pane sashes. It has a simple doorcase with a flat hood.

No. 5 is constructed of red brick with a hipped tiled roof. It is two storeys high with two windows, featuring 16-pane sashes with intact glazing bars. A later gabled weather porch has been added.
