Description

The cartshed at Field Place is a 18th-century structure that has been altered in the mid-19th century when the ground floor was filled in. It features a timber frame, which is clad in weatherboarding and set on a brick plinth. The roof is half-hipped and covered with tiles. The building consists of two bays and has an angled queen post roof with staggered purlins and a ridgepiece. Dragon ties are present at the corners. The wall frame includes upright posts with a typical cut profile at the jowls, a mid rail, diagonal braces, and a series of carpenters' marks.
