Description

Caxtons is a late 16th century timber-framed building located on Turners Hill Road. It features red brick infilling in the east wall and stands two storeys tall with three windows. The south front has been refaced in red brick on the ground floor, while the upper storey is tile-hung, separated by a strip of weather-boarding. The building has a steeply pitched tiled roof with a pentice at the back. It includes casement windows and a doorway topped with a flat hood supported by brackets. Inside, there are large inglenook fireplaces and a possible smoking chamber adjacent to the chimney.
