Description

The Palace is a historic building located on Canon Lane, with origins dating back to the 13th century. The chapel and the walls of the "Great Kitchen" are from this period. The structure features elements from nearly every period between the 14th and 18th centuries, but it underwent significant rebuilding between 1724 and 1731. The south front of the building is constructed of stone rubble, which has been patched with red brick, and it includes 18th-century sash windows. On the ground floor, there is a projection with arcading that contains a corridor. The gatehouse dates from 1327.
