Description
57-59 South Street is an early 18th-century building, or possibly older, that was refaced in the 19th century. It features a steeply pitched tiled roof with a hip and an original central brick chimney stack. The façade includes four flat-roofed dormers, two of which have small rectangular pediments above them. There is a cornice adorned with modillions. The building has four sash windows set in shallow reveals with flat arches, lacking glazing bars, and features shouldered stuccoed architraves. The ground floor has been altered by a late 19th-century shop front with plate glass. Inside, there are traces of old panelling and doorways.
