Description
No 93 on East Street is a Grade II* listed building with an early 19th-century front that conceals an Elizabethan timber-framed structure, which originally included both Nos 92 and 93. The building features a continuous roof cornice and a stuccoed facade, with the top of the shop fascia for No 93 aligned with the cornice above the shop window of No 92. It stands three storeys tall with an attic and has one flat-roofed dormer. The roof is hipped and tiled, topped with a modern cornice that includes modillions. The first and second storeys overhang, similar to No 92, with the overhang now supported by the fascia of a modern shop front. The sash windows are set in reveals with flat arches and moulded frames. Inside, the front room on the ground floor boasts a fine painted plaster ceiling dating from the late 16th century, likely crafted by Italian artisans.
