Description

46 and 48 Westgate are two former houses, originally numbered 32 and 31, built in the early 19th century. They feature a tiled roof with a hip at the western end and are two storeys tall. The front is made of cement, and there are sash windows set in reveals; the upper windows of No 48 have glazing bars, although some are missing. The doors are located in reveals behind round-headed doorways, with semi-circular fanlights above them. No 46 has a six-panelled door, while No 48 has a west front made of red brick with alternating grey headers and includes a three-sided canted bay that has been added and cemented. Nos 16 to 48 (even numbers) form a group.
