Description
Thorneycroft is a pair of early 19th-century houses located on the west side of The Steyne. They are three storeys tall and feature three-light bays and one sash window for each house. The front is finished in stucco, with a cornice and parapet. The doors have moulded architraves that match those of the adjacent No 13. Each house has a balcony on the first storey, with convex metal canopies; No 15 has a decorated iron railing, while No 17 features criss-cross wood. The entrance to No 17 has a six-panel door, with the top four panels glazed, while No 15 has an eight-panel door, also with the top four panels glazed. The roof is a two-span slate design. Thorneycroft is part of a group that includes Nos 9 to 17 (odd), Sailsbury House Nos 19 to 27 (odd), and Steyne Hall, creating an uninterrupted sequence.
