Description
2, Marine Parade is a house dating from the 1830s or 1840s, considered attractive for its period. The house comprises a central three-story section with a single window, and two-story wings each with a single window. The facade is stuccoed, with a cornice and parapet above each section. A bay window extends across all floors of the central portion; glazing bars are missing from this bay window, but remain intact in the other windows. An iron balcony with a hood is situated on the first floor of both the central portion and the east wing. The balcony is supported by three slender iron columns beneath the central portion and by a porch with pilasters and a round-headed arch supporting the east wing. The rear of the central portion is constructed of random rubble. The property forms a group with numbers 1 to 5, Marine Parade.
