Description

The garden wall at the rear and east side of number 1 dates to approximately 1860. The wall is flint and encloses the garden. The main building is three storeys high and has four windows. It is stuccoed and features an eaves bracket cornice and a slate roof with ornamental cresting. A three-window bay is present on all floors towards the right side. A ground-floor verandah and a first-floor balcony, both featuring elaborate cast iron columns and railing, are also notable. The windows are plate glass. Numbers 1 to 5 Marine Parade are designated as a group.
