Description

The garden wall to numbers 3, 4, 5, and 6 Manor House is part of a group of four houses that were formerly the Manor House with two cottages at the rear. This structure dates from the late 17th century and was extended to the rear in the 19th century. It is built of hammer-dressed stone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has three bays and three storeys, with a central entrance. Both the front and rear have twin gables, although the rear was extended in the 19th century to create numbers 4 and 6.

The facade is symmetrical and imposing, with a central door that has a rusticated and pedimented surround. The corners of the building feature rusticated quoins. The ground floor has two four-light windows, while the first floor has two four-light and one two-light window, and the second floor has two three-light and one two-light window. All windows have double-chamfered stone mullions. The gables have been heightened to accommodate a pediment above the central window, similar to the one over the door, and each gable has a blocked ashlar-dressed circular opening.

The adjoining garden wall enhances the overall design and includes a rusticated pier. At the rear, footbridges provide access to numbers 4 and 6, which feature flat-faced mullion windows as well as others with stone lintels and sills.
